For this project, co-collaborated with Juyun Kim and Seohyun Jung, we were tasked to create and design an engaging app that will get 19-30 year olds in Toronto to engage more in city planning.

What is the problem you are trying to solve?
Lots of people (newcomers, international students, immigrant people) have a problem getting a good place to live. Some people get ripped off because the place is different from the pictures posted on the website, or kicked out from the place they are living, or the rent fee is so high that they can’t get a place to live. To get people to get more involved with talking about low-income housing.
Frame the problem as a design question (keep it broad)
Can we build a way for people to engage and communicate in their neighbourhoods and communities to discuss low-income housing.
State the ultimate impact you are trying to have
Give more opportunities to people with low income that allows them to have more information about the housing near their area.
What are some possible solutions to your problem?
We can create an app for people in the community to engage and discuss more about low-income housing.

What and how could this app benefit the users in general / with low income?
Will the app start a real conversation and make a difference?
Rewrite your design question with more detail
To build an app that people can get involved in with low-income housing. This app would allow users to get notifications for low-income housing available and new development housing coming up in their area, have a conversation with their local city planners, start their own meetings, and have a forum where they can discuss or share their opinions about the housing, and rate the housing and neighbourhood. Possibly we could add a feature that rewards users with points.
